Client profile
The Client is a Polish company with foreign capital operating in the food industry. Although it conducts operational activities in Poland, key processes, including accounting, are coordinated from abroad. Locally, only one person was responsible for ensuring that all processes met Polish regulatory requirements.
Sudden departure of the finance director
After closing the financial year, the company faced a major crisis. The key person responsible for financial and accounting matters left the organization. The situation was further complicated by an ongoing audit, during which auditors raised numerous questions about documentation and accounting details. Employees unfamiliar with the processes were unable to provide complete and accurate responses.
Proposed and implemented solutions
Immediate support in the ongoing audit was essential. The trust established during this process led to the initiation of long‑term cooperation in managing Polish accounting. Grant Thornton’s Outsourcing Department now not only oversees whether the company fulfils all reporting and tax obligations correctly but also actively supports the Client in their execution. The scope of cooperation includes:
- property tax settlements,
- preparation of NBP and GUS reports,
- preparation of annual CIT returns,
- preparation of transfer pricing documentation and TPR filings,
- coordination of the e‑delivery process.
What is particularly important is that Grant Thornton’s support extends beyond standard accounting services. Specialists also spend time explaining Polish regulations and processes in detail, enabling the Client to fully understand local requirements and operate safely in the Polish market.
Benefits for the Client
The Client received not only urgent crisis assistance but also a trusted partner offering ongoing support in daily accounting processes. As a result, the company gained a sense of security and the assurance that all key financial and accounting obligations in Poland are handled on time and in full compliance with regulations.
