Grant Thornton advised KGHM in the acquisition transaction of PV installations

Grant Thornton experts provided advisory services to KGHM Polska-Miedź in the purchase of a portfolio of photovoltaic installations with a total capacity of 47.1 MW from Projekt-Solartechnik Group.

The Grant Thornton team, composed of Zenon Wawryszko, Irmina Kornacka, Julia Brzezicka, supported KGHM in financial due diligence, while Dariusz Gałązka, Katarzyna Ciesielska, Oskar Matuszczak, Eliza Szprecher provided expertise in tax due diligence, while Małgorzata Kaczmarczyk Białecka, Błażej Filipczak and Aneta Loch-Adamek prepared the financial model along with the valuation of Target. Our experts also rendered transaction advisory services for the Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA).

The acquisition of photovoltaic installations aligns with the goals outlined in KGHM’s strategy. The company aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 and, indirectly, intends to meet at least 50% of its demand for electrical energy from its own sources, including Renewable Energy Sources, by 2030.

The company focuses on ore extraction, copper production, and other non-ferrous metals. It has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange for 25 years.

Projekt Solartechnik is an international group specializing in large-scale PV farms, wind power plants, and the sale and trading of green energy. The group offers ready-made PV farms and renewable energy projects at various stages of development.
