Biography
Dr Marcin Mrowiec is an economist and macroeconomic advisor to companies. He has over 20 years of experience, mainly in the banking sector. For 12 years he was chief economist and director of macroeconomic and sectoral analysis at Bank Pekao. He started his career as an analyst in the International Markets Research Department at Bayerische Hypo und Vereinsbank in Munich, then worked as an economist at Bank BPH. He has won – individually and as a team – many awards for the accuracy of his macroeconomic and market forecasts, including in competitions organised by the National Bank of Poland, ‘Rzeczpospolita’, ‘Parkiet’ and ‘Puls Biznesu’.
He holds a doctorate in economics from the Cracow University of Economics. He was also a lecturer at the Jagiellonian University and the Warsaw University of Technology. His book: ‘The Austrian School of Economics: How it can help explain the stagnation of the Japanese economy’, PWN 2017, was nominated as one of the 10 best economic books by Polish authors in the Economicus 2018 competition organised by ‘Dziennik Gazeta Prawna’.
