Give a high five for a better world!

Sustainability within reach

At Grant Thornton, we see ourselves as people first, not just employees. With the same dedication we bring to our clients, we care for one another, the well-being of the people around us, the health of the Polish economy, and the future of our planet.

That is why we are putting our sustainability strategy, “A High Five for the World,” into action. Here are its goals, principles, and impact.

FINGER 1

We support our environment

As an organization employing 1,200 experts in fields such as economics, law, and finance, we feel responsible for supporting the development of the Polish economy and local economies by sharing knowledge, providing opinions on legal regulations, and supporting local purchasing initiatives.

Our approach

  • Sharing knowledge – open content policy:

We share our experts’ knowledge with the environment. Almost all of our reports, studies, guides, webinars, and events are free and publicly available.

  • Improving economic regulations

We create reports promoting the principles of good legislation, monitor the quality of lawmaking, and propose regulatory changes. We consult on legal acts and comment on regulatory issues in the media.

  • Supporting local purchasing

We take actions to source services and products manufactured locally.

FINGER 2

Strengthening future generations

At Grant Thornton, we feel responsible for educating future generations, preparing them for active participation in society and the job market.

Our approach

  • Economic and business education for youth

We cooperate with schools and universities. We conduct training, workshops, and consultations for young professionals, showing them the industry from the inside through internships, placements, and mentoring meetings.

  • Supporting the future of children from orphanages

We provide care and support for children from local foster homes. We organize collections and charity events, with proceeds dedicated to the education and development of these children.

FINGER 3

Protecting the planet

We set ourselves the goal of actively protecting the planet to minimize our negative impact on the natural environment. We achieve this by monitoring our carbon footprint, implementing eco-friendly initiatives, and through sustainable resource and infrastructure management.

Our approach

  • Carbon footprint monitoring

We implement the GFANZ (Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero) program, which Grant Thornton has joined. The goal is to accelerate the decarbonization of the economy by achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and limiting temperature rise to 1.5°C.

  • Eco-initiatives and employee education

We integrate our teams around common environmental goals. We organize competitions and pro-ecological actions, often combining them with sporting challenges.

  • Sustainable resource and infrastructure management

We emphasize effective and responsible management of resources and infrastructure. We implement solutions that support waste reduction, recycling, and the optimization of operational processes.

FINGER 4

Diversity, equality & inclusion (DEI)

At Grant Thornton, we build a culture of respect for diversity, inclusion, and equality, as it helps us better understand and respond to the needs of a changing world.

Our approach

  • Equal opportunities for all

We create a work environment where everyone, regardless of gender, has identical opportunities for development and promotion. We ensure fair pay, transparent career paths, and access to mentoring.

  • Neurodiversity

We create a workplace where every individual, regardless of their neurological profile, feels safe, valued, and has equal opportunities to reach their full potential.

  • People with disabilities

We strive for full inclusion by eliminating barriers. We adapt our infrastructure, work tools, and information to the individual needs of people with disabilities.

  • Sustainable work environment

We care for the well-being and work-life balance of our employees (e.g., hybrid work, mental and physical health support, parental groups).

  • CSR activities

We believe every employee can be a leader of change for a better world.

FINGER 5

Corporate governance

We are building a management system that, through internal standards, procedures, and practices, ensures compliance with the law, responsible business conduct, and the effective achievement of business goals, while taking into account the needs of all stakeholders.

Our approach

  • Highest quality of services

We strive for the highest level of client satisfaction in accordance with legal requirements, professional standards, and internal procedures.

  • Alignment with values and ethical standards

Full compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements is our priority. We place special emphasis on independence as the foundation of our credibility.

  • Risk management

A strategic process through which we identify, assess, and mitigate potential threats to achieving our goals.

  • Information security and confidentiality

We protect the data of our clients and employees against unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction, ensuring full compliance with privacy regulations.

Our global commitment to a sustainable culture

The Grant Thornton global network remains committed to making a significant impact on sustainable development across all our communities.

A comprehensive approach

We integrate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) issues into our strategy and business objectives. We approach this work with the same spirit of collaboration and innovation that has guided us throughout our history.

Net zero financial service providers alliance (NZFSPA)

Grant Thornton was a founding member of the NZFSPA, launched during Climate Week NYC 2021. This alliance commits us to aligning all relevant services and operations with the goal of achieving net-zero emissions.
