Grant Thornton in Poland is taking another important step in building its digital services portfolio. The Grant Thornton Group is joined by IT Omega, a provider of IT outsourcing services. Grant Thornton becomes a strategic investor in the company, taking up an 80% stake. In doing so, the firm expands its range of digital services, which complement its traditional audit, advisory and outsourcing services.
IT Omega was established in 2008 and currently employs a team of more than 30 people. It provides comprehensive services in IT outsourcing and management of IT environments, including subscription-based IT support for more than 140 clients in Poland and abroad. On a day-to-day basis, the company provides ongoing user support, manages servers, monitors backups, ensures network security, carries out migrations and implementations and implements complex IT projects. In doing so, it helps organisations achieve efficient and effective digital transformation. IT Omega stands out in the market with its business approach to IT, where technology is seen as a strategic tool to support clients’ business goals and processes. This means that IT is not treated as a separate department that operates in isolation, but as an integral part of the business that supports and drives its success.
Following the transaction, Tomasz Janas will assume the position of IT Outsourcing Partner and continue as CEO of IT Omega. His responsibilities will include managing the combined sales process of Immusec and IT Omega, driving cross-selling and up-selling, developing IT services, and building new value propositions for clients in the areas of cybersecurity and IT.
With the acquisition of IT Omega, Grant Thornton is taking another quantum leap forward with the Grant Thornton Digital Drive service line, which brings together digital consulting in its broadest sense, i.e. assisting businesses with IT, cybersecurity, designing digital tools and solutions, and supporting the digital transformation of businesses. Within the Grant Thornton Group, these services are provided by previous acquisitions Edisonda (2017) and Immusec (2019). The latter – following the planned merger with IT Omega – will change its name to Grant Thornton Technology.
